WHY ESWATINI?
WHY ESWATINI?
Eswatini has the world’s highest infection rate of HIV at 27 percent –affecting over 295,000 of the 1.1 million Swazis in the country. The result is that 36% of the population is under the age of 15, meaning child-led households have become common. The nation recently experienced the worst drought in the last 100 years –during which, food insecurity was facing one-in-three Swazis. With a life expectancy of 57 years and poor employment opportunities, Eswatini needs help to ensure the next generation can be effective leaders.
OUR PARTNER
LifePoint is proud to partner with Adventures in Missions in their work with the people of Eswatini. Their mission is to develop Christ-following leaders to be the change this world needs, working through short and long term mission trips, disaster relief, and mission bases (like Eswatini) all around the globe.
Child Sponsorship
The sponsorship program provides a child with nutritious food, clean water, and discipleship. Additionally, their family will be invited to take part in programs that strengthen the family unit, leading toward community transformation.
Sponsoring a child is not just about money - it is about building a relationship with a child that is a part of the community at the Anchor & Maba 1 CarePoints that our teams work with.
CarePoints
The CarePoint system is the heart of Adventure in Missions' ministry in Eswatini. At over 30 locations across the country, any child can come to a CarePoint for a meal (often their only one of the day), medical aid, safety, and discipleship. Their goal is to tend to each child holistically for survival, family strengthening, community development, education, basic medical, and future employment.
LifePoint Church directly supports the Maba 1 CarePoint, providing financially for their operation as a part of our yearly operating budget -this means that special giving is not required - your regular tithe/giving to the general fund supports this critical ministry.
MISSION TRIPS
Each year we send a group of passionate people to get boots on the ground in Eswatini. This group spends time serving and interacting with the people at the CarePoints we support here at LifePoint - meaning we have a direct connection with the children we sponsor. Spots for the team are limited, so if you want to experience this life-changing trip, let us know!
