Glenn Pfeiffer

Lead Pastor

E-Mail:

Glenn and Denys were both born and raised in New Jersey. Although they only lived two miles apart, they did not meet each other until Glenn attended Denys' graduation party from Villanova University... (you're right,… this involved party crashing- they'll tell you the story sometime if you want to hear more). Glenn and Denys were married in 1986 and have four children- Stephen, David, Austin and Kayleigh- two dogs- Cooper and Toby- and one cat named Alley.

Glenn has been in pastoral ministry for 20 years including several years pastoring in Lititz, PA, and as the founding pastor of Crossroads Community Church north of Philadelphia. Glenn's formal education includes a bachelor's degree from Messiah College and a master's degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. Glenn also received a scholarship for the Beeson Doctoral Program and in 1999 earned his Doctorate in Leadership and Communication. As part of Glenn's doctoral studies he and Denys traveled across North America and beyond. One of the highlights of this program was the opportunity to visit local churches in South Korea, including the largest church in the world, the Yoido Full Gospel Church.

Early in 2006, after much prayer, Glenn and Denys felt the Lord confirm a call to step out of their comfort zones and move their family to Harrisburg to start LifePoint Church. Since the launch of LifePoint, God has greatly blessed the church with great people and significant growth, where LifePoint has transitioned to offering two services. Glenn and Denys are grateful for the many great people and new friends God has brought into their lives as well as the exciting momentum and enormous potential of LifePoint Church.

John Engel

Pastor of Worship, Media, and Technology

E-Mail:

John is a PA native, born and raised in Lebanon City, and currently living in Harrisburg. He has been involved in music since first grade, learning to play the piano, drums, and guitar by the time he graduated from high school. He has played in all kinds of bands with all sorts of styles, but his favorites are Jazz and Rock.

John's formal education consists of a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Penn State and a Master's Degree in Pastoral Leadership from Lancaster Bible College. He also has some musical education from Messiah College and has taken private music lessons in various instruments for nearly twenty years.

During a period of visiting many area churches, John discovered and loved LifePoint. After seeing that no one was playing the beautiful grand piano on stage, he inquired as to why that might be. Before too long, he was regularly contributing the talents God gave him to the worship team. It was also at LifePoint that John met his amazing wife Janelle. John's heart is to use music to lead people into a sincere worship of God, and to use his administrative gifts to help lead LifePoint into the great future God has for it.

Bill Simpson

KidzLife Director and Administrative Assistant

E-Mail:

Bill was born and raised in the small South-Central Pennsylvania town of Spring Grove. A writer by talent and an artist by trade—He received his associate’s degree in Digital Arts from Thompson Institute in 2003— he has filled every job from insurance sales to dishwashing to retail before realizing where his true passions lied. In the midst of all of that, he’s volunteered since 2003 in both AWANA and church-based children’s ministry, working everywhere from the nursery to teaching fifth and sixth grade boys over this ten year span. As of April of 2013, he has completed the online Directed Studies Program through Asbury Theological Seminary and the Brethren in Christ Church to meet the educational requirements needed for ordination in the denomination.

Bill and his wife, Jenn, were married in August 2013 after originally meeting on eHarmony in the Fall of 2009 and dating long distance for three years (Jenn is a native of Greensburg, PA—near Pittsburgh). They both share a love for art, travel, science fiction (particularly Star Wars and Doctor Who) and Japanese culture and entertainment, and thus far have a small family consisting of two red miniature dachshunds named Gordito and Samantha and a cat named Misty.

In his position as director of the KidzLife ministry at LifePoint, Bill’s heart is to see children discipled and trained to possess a faith that will stand despite the turbulence of the world they find themselves in, to equip parents and partner with them in their role as the primary spiritual influences in their children’s lives, and to help KidzLife volunteers identify and use their gifts and abilities to their fullest for the Kingdom of God.

Josh Swartz

Youth Pastor

E-Mail:

Josh was born and raised in Pennsylvania, in the little town of Annville. One of Josh’s greatest passions is music, so he spent several years after high-school, writing, recording, and performing music with the band Skyhawk Drive. After some time though Josh realized he was being called back to his original calling in high-school, pastoral ministry.

After leaving his band, Josh enrolled at Harrisburg Area Community College for a year and then transferred to Lancaster Bible College. He spent three years at LBC, during which he served in many ministries including Camp ministry, Youth ministry, and sometime serving as a pastoral intern. It was also during this time that he became engaged to his wife, Samantha. Josh graduated with Bachelors in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Ministry from Lancaster Bible College. One of his passions is teaching people about the Word of God and helping people better minister to their community.

As Pastor of Youth Ministry here at Lifepoint, Josh’s passion is to encourage students to a deeper relationship with Christ, better equip students to be able to reach out to their communities with the love of Christ, help partner with parents in their children’s lives, and encourage Asylum volunteers to utilize their gifts for the Kingdom of God.
